Below are a few client testimonials we hvae over the years.
Derek M. - October 2017:
“It was my fourth and my family’s second visit to Polo Valley (PV). This time they stepped up the challenge on the instructional chukkas playing faster and enabling me to learn more about playing tactics, player positioning and how to ensure more effective ride-offs. Our stick and ball coach every morning was an Argentinian chap called Hernan, cousin to the great Pieres brothers, so we’re hopeful some of their magic will rub off on our Polo playing! Our kids, as usual, were treated to the exceptional hospitality, care and attention by the PV resort staff - both are now cantering ‘off the rein’ and our 11-year-old is now playing ‘slow’ instructional chukkas with beginner adults, how’s that for progress after only 14 days on the PV ponies."
Christian H. - July 2017:
"As a late starter to Polo, I could not have found a better place. The personal care and attention both on and off the field combined with a beautiful location and a wide selection of horses, has made this my “Polo home from home”. Every morning’s stick & ball practice are carefully planned, specific goals explained, making sure I get the most out of the sessions. The afternoon chukkas are tremendous fun and as the big evening Sun falls over the field, new Polo friends are made. I love this place and can’t wait to be back."
Philippa N. - July 2017:
"Having reached middle age, being left handed and a non-rider, I perhaps don't fit the stereotype of PoloPlayer that most may imagine!. Yet at Polo Valley, the excellent instruction from Tom developed riding skills I had learnt in the UK and finally mastering the infamous half seat, is worth every penny. Tom talks via an earpiece in the players ear, so you can hear in real-time exactly how to correct your technique. The range of ponies available to ride is beyond expectation. Novices and those with advanced skills need not fear they won't find a match. I stayed in Polo Valleys own accommodation which is 53 steps from the field of play (yes I counted). This means I was able to enjoy stress free days of eating freshly prepared food, receive 1:1 instruction, play chukkas with other guests, shower, rest, swim in the pool AND go for a late evening stroll to walk the dogs/cuddle the ponies. We were given the opportunity to watch the owner Christian play a key 12 goal game at the nearby Santa Maria Polo Club and we all went for a refreshing hack in the nearby river to cool down. Polo Valley Team effortlessly makes you feel like part of a family and the fine attention to details such as orange slices/water brought to you between chukkas, an ice cold G&T after each game, cleaning of my boots and my own seat in the shade with my polo equipment waiting each day, helped me understand how a 10 goaler must be treated at important games. The Saturday evening Asado is Gold Standard and much laughter was experienced. Polo Valley is currently building a small gym to help with those important post polo stretches and I was also offered the services of a local masseuse, who works with international teams, (at reasonable cost), who visited me in my room. The only decision for me to make now is when to return.... "
Sam D. - from Australia - July 2017:
"Hi Polo Valley, thanks for today, I really did enjoy it. I wouldn't normally be moved to write, but you really have an impressive set up. Since I started playing 4/5 years ago, I have been on polo holidays in quite a few places (eg Argentina, New Zealand, Portugal, France), one of the reasons I wasn't looking for that type of experience this time. But yours is the best and certainly most professional I've seen. Anyway, all the best for the coming season."
Debs B. - June 2017:

"This has ben the absolute most incredible weekend and it was everything and more that I had imagined. I could not have had a better 21st birthday in the world! Thank you all so much for making it so fun and easy and for being so incredibly considerate in the organisation of 12 ridiculous college students. I cannot wait for June with Pri and for the many more times I plan to come down."
Liselotte - October 2016:
"I had an amazing time at polo valley in the two weeks that I was there. In the morning we would stick and ball with two ponies and in the afternoon play practice chukkas. I have improved my polo a lot thanks to the instructions from Alvaro. Thanks to his enthusiasm and the different exercises he comes up with there is never a dull moment. The ponies are also amazing. Much better than in other places in sotogrande that I visited. Apart from that expect some great food, some nice and clean accommodation and great beaches close by. And let's not forget about the team at polo valley who make you feel part of their family from the very first moment. Anyone who wants to improve their polo or just play grass polo before the English season starts I would definitely recommend polo valley."
Diana (Polo People Places)- October 2016:
"I absolutely loved my week at Polo Valley. I immediately felt at home when I arrived there, the whole team is so warm and welcoming and it is clear to see that they feel like a little family, which is just lovely for us visitors to feel included in. The food was great, everything was well organised and maintained, the rooms were very cosy and clean and the most important part to me, the polo was amazing. Polo Valley has horses for any type of rider, I was still very much a beginner, but with some knowledge of polo, so I rode on 4 different horses throughout the week, starting off with the most relaxed one and by the end of the week as I had improved I was on a stronger and faster horse. The coaching from the polo pro was the exact amount of encouragement and correction making me feel confident whilst learning. I felt a huge improvement in my polo skills, while having the best time, especially during practice chukkers with the way Alvaro commentated on every move as if we were playing at the best polo field in Argentina, that cracked me up. I will definitely come back to Polo Valley as many times as I can, I actually considered moving to Sotogrande because of Polo Valley, so I definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in horses, polo and having a great holiday."
Suzy W (Alicante) - September 2016:
"I cannot speak highly enough of Polo Valley! Polo Valley is a truly fantastic place for those who are just starting in polo as well as those who have become passionate and would like to improve their game. The setting is beautiful, the training field is in immaculate condition and management, office staff and the stable lads are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the horses who are superbly looked after and expertly allocated to the level of expertise of each individual player. Everything is clean, the tack is in excellent condition and you don’t even have to bring your own mallet, boots or helmet as these can be provided. What really sets Polo Valley apart from other places that I have been is the quality of the coaching I received from professional players like Argentinian 4-goaler Alvaro, Santi and the other experienced coaches. They positively encouraged while correcting my game in a way I could easily replicate and apply. I have never learned so much in a stick and ball session, AND so thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m hooked! There is no question in my mind that I will come back as often as I can."

"...And there I was thinking I knew something about polo... WRONG.... However, thanks to everyone here I know now a little bit. I also know I will be back soon. What a fantastic place and great people. Thank you for delicious meals and cakes, now I need to go home to diet.. Alvaro, a man with only forward gears and they are all fast. Chris i feel very well looked after from me booking to departure, thank you to all the staff. Lastly thank you to all the wonderful horses, they were fantastic. "
Eko Yin - May 2016:
"So much love for polo valley and all the staff here!! I've had one of my best holidays, and I can hit the ball now 🙂 A huge thank you to all staff for taking care of me. I feel part of the family and ill be back soon."
"We were greeted with what can only be described as an Argentinian oasis. The polo fields, stables and friendly staff just wiped away the fear I had of entertaining my entire family for a week. I decided to take a step back and let the unbelievably professional staff take over and encourage the children to get involved. From renaming the horses, painting the horses with face paint and hitting the ball with the polo mallets, they were hooked before getting on a horse. The incredibly well looked after polo ponies were so calm and patient; we had a fantastic experience and the children are desperate to return."
"My children are completely addicted and want to go back. That is down to the people at Polo Valley; from those who taught us, to the lovely grooms that look after the ponies. A feeling of mallet on ball and simultaneously trying to control a pony is a complete hit with the boys and has made my daughter fall in love with horses all over again. Thank you for a mission impossible made possible!"
Mrs Attenborough - October 2015:
"Each day brought something different, a picturesque hack out into the countryside, riding skills, and polo techniques to name a few. A particularly special evening was the Asado at the farm hosted by the Polo Valley Team. Great company, excellent food whilst watching the stunning sunset will take some beating. The team at Polo Valley were extremely welcoming and incredibly attentive throughout our stay and they met and indeed exceeded our expectations."
Mrs Poulter - September 2015:
"From beginning to end our time spent at Polo Valley was truly fantastic. When the suggestion was made to try something different, I didn't quite expect this different and indeed something all of the family could enjoy so much. Our riding ranged from an experienced show jumper who rides every day through to never having sat on a horse, this could only go one of two ways! From the start the instructors were engaging, patient and challenging. By the end of day one we were able to strike a ball with a mallet whilst on a horse and by the end of the week we were playing fairly fast and furious game of polo!"
